Are there advantages to a power of attorney over a conservatorship?

Many people choose to use a power of attorney or a durable power of attorney to allow someone to act on their behalf if they’re not able to. A conservatorship is used in Florida when the owner of property can’t be found. It’s similar to a guardianship, but in a guardianship, the person, we know where they are, we just think they’re incompetent and the court has found that they’re not able to make decisions. In a conservatorship the person can’t be found but someone has to be appointed to make decisions for their property.
