At what age is child support terminated in Florida for a handicapped child who is unable to be gainfully employed?

It’s important for parents to know the requirements of law for their children who are disabled. If the parents agree in their divorce that they will continue to support the child after adulthood, that’s a great thing. If the parents do not agree, the court can still require one parent to pay support to the other parent, or to the child, for that disabled child’s support long after they’re 18. The Disability payments that they would receive through Social Security very seldom meet all of their needs, and it’s important for parents to continue to be involved, and courts will require parents to continue to pay support for that child.
