Does the person over whom guardianship is sought have to know that a petition for guardianship was filed?

In Florida, once a petition for guardianship is filed, the alleged incapacitated person or proposed ward must be notified of the guardianship. Normally, the court will appoint an attorney [alizer 00:00:18] to represent the proposed ward, who will provide that notice personally. Unless an emergency, temporary guardianship is sought without their knowledge, in which case the court could initially appoint a guardian in an emergency, without knowledge of the proposed ward.
