Will your Lawyer go to bat for you, fight for you? In a collaborative process collaborative Lawyers are more of coaches to help you advocate for you own best interests and the interests of your family. The Attorney will spend probably more time helping you to see the big picture and the full detail, rather than focusing on one small conflict within the case. That way your Attorney does a lot better job for you to get you through the process, rather than fighting for you on every issue. You’re Attorney is going to help you to resolve the conflict in ways that will help you and your former spouse resolve conflicts later on. Such as when your daughter gets married or when your son graduates from college, you’ll be able to use those tools that you learn in collaboration to make decisions that are in the best interests of your family long term.
